Every year there are more and more people taking trips north and cottaging during the winter. Snowmobiling has become on of the most popular winter sports, bringing millions of dollars into local economies that once relied solely on the summer cottagers. We are located in the heart of "Paudash TrailBlazer" Country, with the Top E trail connecting our lake to the rest of the trail system. For those who prefer non-motorized activities, there are lots of opportunities for ice fishing, cross-country skiing, snowshoeing and winter camping. Silent Lake Provincial Park has some of best groomed trails (for both skating and traditional ski styles) in the province. They also have winter camping and snowshoeing. One of the most awe-inspiring activities is to go for a moonlight ski right here on Eels Lake. You won’t believe how bright it actually gets with the reflection of the snow. When conditions are right, we also maintain a skating rink. As well, when we get enough snow we will build at least on quinze (similar to an igloo). You’d be amazed at how comfortable and warm they are! Ice fishing is not permitted on Eels Lake but there are number of other lakes located within a few minutes drive where you try your hand at catching a trout or pickerel. We also have an ice hut available for rent that is located on nearby Monmouth Lake.
